Stretch, Breathe, Relax: A workshop on Yoga & Mindfulness

Leading a sedentary life can be harmful to your health. How can you make small, sustainable changes in your day to make your life less sedentary? You don’t need a complex exercise and diet regime. Go back to basics and start small. Create a routine and a discipline around meal timings, take time out for self-care, and draw boundaries so that you can disconnect to re-energise yourself. 

With this workshop, experience simple stretches that you can do at your desk or at any time of the day. Re-learn how  we can change our state of mind through simple, conscious breathing exercises. Learn to relax with simple, tried and tested methods that ancient practices like yoga, Tai chi and similar systems that have a holistic approach to the mind and body connect.

FACILITATOR

In 2013, Menaka decided to leave her corporate job to travel, get fit & pursue other interests like travel, painting etc. She started practicing yoga in 2014 which transformed her life physically and mentally and in 2015 she got certified as a Yoga teacher (International Yoga Teachers Training course Level 1 – 200 hour RYT recognised by Yoga Alliance, USA) through the Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon. In 2016, Menaka completed the International Advanced Teachers’ Training Course Level 2 which deepens ones spiritual knowledge over 4 weeks of intensive yoga practice and the study of Vedanta philosophy.

Menaka has done her training as a psychotherapist in training through Process Work Institute, India – she has recently completed a 2 year Certificate Program in Process- Oriented Psychology. In current times, Menaka has focussed on provide guided online pranayama & relaxation classes, therapy sessions to help individuals deal with stress and uncertainty.
